The funny thing about this gentleman when you bring it to his attention that he is in the wrong, boy, he feels that we are picking on him. Yes, it's amazing. How is it that we have to suffer because of their mistake.
Are you sure he's not related to the boss, even if it's by marriage? Or maybe he knows something about the boss that the boss doesn't want him to tell so he keeps him on in the hopes he won't spill the story.

It's possible. It's funny but his boss is going to be replace on January 5th so we will see if he will still have a job.

Re: Under employment
i have a phd in psychology and many years experience doing research, workshops and public speaking.
the problem is i do horribly in one to one interactions and managed to offend just about everyone on my faculty so i had no reference letters.
i did the same thing in my internship so again, no reference letters.
so i have been employed for the past 15 years as a crisis clinician, which is for a psychologist quite severely underemployed. i even managed to get fired from one crisis job i had - same issue - really bad social skills.
now i have a job where they know about the ASD and i am about to leave it. i am afraid for my future but i know i can always take the jobs no one else wants - that is how i have gotten by most of my life.

Re: Under employment
Yes, one of my brothers who I suspect is slightly aspie, really struggled to find work after he finished his degree. He is very quietly spoken and reserved. He finally found his niche working at a special school and the headmaster is very impressed that my brother actually volunteered there to update the records of every one of their 100+ students - it was a job that had been left undone for far too long because nobody else had the patience to do it.
I think that is often where we can find some success in the job world because there are always some jobs that nobody wants to do but yet we might like to.
